Nacida de la impar imaginación de su autor, esta obra supone un compendio de las maravillas. En la prosa contenida en los espléndidos relatos mitológicos, así como en los textos legendarios y evangélicos, Carlos Álvarez Méndez ha sabido insuflar profundidad —algo ya de por sí memorable por el riesgo que supone siempre embellecer lo eterno—, a unas historias que nos devuelven a unos tiempos épico y presocráticos en los que la poesía y la epopeya, el relato filosófico y teogónico resumían el acerbo de nuestros antepasados intelectuales. Born of the odd imagination of its author, this work is a compendium of wonders. In the prose contained in the splendid mythological stories, as well as in the legendary and evangelical texts, Carlos Álvarez Méndez has known how to infuse depth -something already memorable by the risk that always entails beautifying the eternal-, to some stories that return us to epic and pre-Socratic times in which poetry and the epic, the philosophical and theogonic narrative summarized the acerbic of our intellectual ancestors. These myths, legends and unpublished gospels describe all of our readers and, therefore, belong to all of us. In the ordinary, the extraordinary and, all art being a tragic attempt at perfection, among these magical words, we delight all those who, as mythological beings of unbelieving times, we long to transcend the daily transit between our solitudes and those of others. Let us embrace these texts with the satisfaction of knowing their protagonists, as divine and contemporary odysseys.
